Every keeper should have a kit of emergency supplies that might be needed for treating minor medical problems. Here is a list to help you put one together.

EMERGENCY VET PHONE NUMBER(S): Alert vet if on the way there.
STYPTIC POWDER: Used for minor bleeding. Kwik-Stop is one.
FINGERNAIL CLIPPER: Used to trim nails.
NONSTERILE SYRINGES: Used without the needle for giving medications or directing antiseptics to minor wound areas.
MAGNIFYING GLASS: Used to examine for mites or for better evaluation of an injury.
SALINE EYE WASH: Used to float matter out of dragon's eye(s)
TONGUE DEPRESSOR Used to check inside a dragon's mouth, to help administer medications, or to stabilize fractures.
BETADINE SOLUTION: Used to disinfect minor wounds. Ten parts water to one part Betadine is a good ratio.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE: Used to clean minor wounds.
ANTIBIOTIC OINTMENT Used to prevent infection to minor wounds
STERILE NON-STICK GAUZE: Used to cover wounds.
PEDIALYTE: Used for rehydration or continued hydration.
BABYFOOD Used to feed anorexic dragon...turkey or chicken will do fine. Green veggie and a small amount of fruit babyfood is helpful.
BLUNT-END SCISSORS
PLASTIC BAGGIES For stool samples.
NORMAL SALINE Moisten guaze wound cover, transport to vet.
FIRST AID TAPE Used to secure splints or bandages. Be sure to get some papertape as well as one of the other types.
